Apex is one of the newest towns in the Triangle by housing age. Census survey data puts the median home at 2008, and fewer than 4% were built before 1980. Almost every subdivision off NC 55, the Apex Peakway and US 1 / US 64 sits on PVC drain and sewer pipe.
